Saint Paul United Methodist Church was founded in 1960 as a missional church, located on the east side of Spartanburg. Community
outreach missions are at the very heart here at Saint Paul as we are committed and called into Sharing the Love of God and Caring for
the Community. We believe in the power of faith-based partnerships with other local churches and nonprofits to support our
neighbors in desperate need. Sharing in loving service results in greater numbers of those served, heightened community impact,
the sharing of resources and focusing on solutions, together, for those who need it the most.

A WAY HOME is a family shelter program serving families with children experiencing
homelessness in Spartanburg County. Host churches, along with the help of support
churches, open their doors to these families to assist them as they work toward
permanent housing and long-term stability. Church volunteers provide good meals,
a safe and warm place for families to sleep and many other amenities. Volunteers
ensure our families are treated, as our guests, with love, dignity and respect. A Way
Home is led by two Spartanburg-based organizations. 'A Place to Call Home,'
through professional staffing, provides intensive case management for the families,
connections to housing, employment and community resources and operates the
Day Center during the business week. The 'Faith Initiative to End Child Poverty'
mobilizes congregations to respond to child and family homelessness through the
growing, local network of churches who are participating partners with A Way Home.
The model described is a successful, community-driven response to family
homelessness.
Our partnership brings together the most resources available to serve those most in need. We also have a number of additional
outreach ministries that help our community.

Our Helping Hands is a ministry that feeds the hungry and homeless in Spartanburg. A bountiful dinner meal is prepared and
served twice per year and staffed by church volunteers. This is a partnership ministry with First Presbyterian Church Spartanburg.
Hope Center For Children provides a safe haven for children in crisis. Food, items and donations are given to support these
children and the program.
Mobile Meals provides a daily meal to shut-ins located in Spartanburg County. This may be the only meal they have for the day,
or the only person they may see on a given day is their Mobile Meals volunteer.
Rebuilding Together Spartanburg is a program where our members perform desperately needed home repairs for those who
are unable to afford home repairs.
